“Christmas in October”, at the Solo Event Space (40 Broad Street, Financial District, NY). All proceeds from the event will benefit God’s Children’s Home, a Christian-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping orphans and needy children in the Dodowa and Accra areas of Ghana.

The 2nd annual benefit for Raising H.O.P.E. The “Christmas in October” event will also pay homage to ten African intellectuals who are engineering sustainable projects and agendas in Africa and in the Diaspora: Hilda Akua Frimpong, Miss Ghana USA 2012; Jamilla Mohammed, founder, A Walk in My Shoes Foundation; M3NSA, UK-based Ghanaian artist and producer; Isaac Boateng, founder Face 2 Face Africa; Sandra Appiah, COO, Face 2 Face Africa; DJ Universe, creator, Afro-Electronic Dance Music (A-EDM); Ijeoma Genevieve Mbamalu, founder, MUI-The PR Company; Selena Watkins, Miss Black USA 2012; Hino Ehikhamenor, celebrity trainer and actor (The Contender and VH1’s Lala’s Full Court Life); Aminat Ayinde, supermodel and actress (America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 12). All ten honorees will be inducted into Raising H.O.P.E’s Beautiful Ambassadors of HOPE, a hall of fame that boasts a roster of the most beautiful and powerful movers and shakers in the global African community.

“Raising H.O.P.E is an organization whose time has come”, said Ellen Osei, Co-founder, Raising H.O.P.E. She continued “For too long, we’ve been unable to mitigate the poor quality of life that many abandoned children in Africa face. However, since our launch a year ago, Raising H.O.P.E has received tremendous support from individuals, business leaders, Pan-African brands, and companies like Courvoisier”. She added “I hope that we can continue to leap in bounds in terms of the support that we receive, because it is the only way that we can break the cycle of impoverishment for these children in Africa“.

“We would like to thank our auction item donors, sponsors, Beautiful Ambassadors of HOPE and everyone that have helped with the logistics for this year’s Christmas in October event” said Dr. Andrea Osei, co-founder Raising H.O.P.E. “This is such an important benefit event for abandoned children in Africa and we are so humbled to have so many people who believe in our mission” added Dr. Osei.
