Malachi Rivers is back with a new conceptual album, and most importantly his most artistic work to date. The Other I is a project that has been a labor of love over the past year. It was around this time last year that Malachi released the summer anthem “Make It Sexy,” which received praise in the online digital hemisphere.
As the saying goes “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it,” and Malachi follows this mantra by teaming back up with his longtime producer Brandon D’lux, who has effortlessly managed to create a musical body of work that introduces you to a different part of Malachi’s personality on each song. “It was my original concept for the EP to draw the listeners into various sides of who I am” says Malachi.
The Other I boasts an impressive list of collaborations including an emotional and soulful collaboration with Lorenzo Owens (Oprah’s Pop Star) on the song “What We Had”. “I had a great time working with so many talented singers/songwriters on this project, and I am grateful for their participation on my most vulnerable work of art today” says Malachi.
The Other I is just one piece of Malachi’s fast-growing artistic empire, which also includes several music placements on the popular web-series, Love Handles (750k+ views), collaborations with Latin Grammy nominated artist Tamela Hedstrom, and new movie and web-series roles. Malachi Rivers is truly an artist to watch in 2015.
