Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, Edgar Ramirez, Lisa Kudrow and Laura Prepon star in DreamWorks Pictures’ The Girl on the Train, from director Tate Taylor (The Help,Get On Up) and producer Marc Platt (Bridge of Spies, Into the Woods).
In the thriller, Rachel (Blunt), who is devastated by her recent divorce, spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one morning she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.
In the video, Blunt talks about her part as the role of Rachel in the movie based on Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel. The Girl on the Train is adapted for the screen by Erin Cressida Wilson. OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s Queen Sugar delivered the highest-rated two-episode debut in network history. Queen Sugar, from award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay (Selma) and executive producer Oprah Winfrey, averaged a 2.7 million total viewers over its two-night premiere.
Based on the novel by Natalie Baszile, the contemporary drama begins as Charley, a savvy and spirited woman living an upscale Los Angeles lifestyle, returns to her family home – an 800-acre sugarcane farm in the heart of Louisiana – when her father has a stroke. There, she reunites with her estranged siblings Nova and Ralph Angel, who are each navigating their lives and love relationships. Together, they must learn to rely on one another as they inherit the family farm and attempt to rebuild both the land and their relationships.
The expansive cast includes Tina Lifford (Parenthood) as Aunt Violet; Omar J. Dorsey (Ray Donovan, Selma) as Violet’s much younger boyfriend Hollywood Desonier; Dondré Whitfield (“Mistresses”) as trusted Bordelon family friend Remy Newell; Timon Kyle Durrett (Single Ladies) as Charley’s husband, pro basketball player Davis West, Nicholas L. Ashe (The Lion King – National Tour) as Charley and Davis’ teenage son, Micah; Greg Vaughan (Days of Our Lives) a local cop and Nova’s lover, Calvin; and Ethan Hutchison (The Path) as Ralph-Angel’s son, Blue. Tuesday’s premiere episode of Queen Sugar became Tuesday night’s #2 cable telecast for women in OWN history across all key measures.
VH1 today announced the cast and showrunners for the network’s latest scripted series Daytime Divas, formerly known as Satan’s Sisters.
Joining the previously announced Vanessa Williams who will play the role of ‘Maxine’ – the creator/host of the popular talk show ‘The Lunch Hour’ are Tichina Arnold (“Survivor’s Remorse”) as ‘Mo,’ Chloe Bridges (“The Carrie Diaries”) as ‘Kibby,’ Camille Guaty (“Scorpion”) as ‘Nina’ and Fiona Gubelmann (“Wilfred”) as ‘Heather’ all of whom play co-hosts on the fictional daytime series. McKinley Freeman (“Hit The Floor”) has also been cast as ‘Shawn,’ Maxine’s son and ‘The Lunch Hour’ producer.
Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler (“Awkward,” “90210”) are showrunners as well as executive producers. They are represented by Paradigm and Stephanie Davis at Wetdog Entertainment.
Principal photography for Daytime Divas begins in Atlanta this month.
Daytime Divas is inspired by Star Jones’ 2011 book Satan’s Sisters… A Novel of Fiction set behind the scenes of a long-running daytime television show, chronicling the fireworks that erupt daily between the five female co-hosts. On screen, they are best friends with five very different points of view, but behind the scenes, they inhabit a world of power struggles, cat fights and cocktails.

VH1, in partnership with Sequential Brands Group, MERRY JANE and 495 Productions, today announced a new weekly series featuring Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg teaming together to throw a dinner party that will be the hottest ticket in town. Each will invite celebrity friends over for a half-baked evening of cocktails, cooking, conversation, and fun where nothing is off limits. Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party will premiere this Fall on VH1.
The unlikely pair, who most recently were on ABC’s 100,000 Pyramid, have quite a storied history that includes joint appearances on Martha’s talk show and the famed Justin Bieber Comedy Central Roast among others. Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party marks their first co-starring project.
The show was created and is executive produced by Stewart & Kim Miller Olko for Sequential Brands Group (NASDAQ: SQBG), Snoop Dogg & Ted Chung for MERRY JANE and SallyAnn Salsano for 495 Productions. Nina L. Diaz, Trevor Rose, Paul Ricci, Fernando Mills and Paula Aranda will executive produce for VH1.

VH1 announced the full cast for The Breaks, the network’s new scripted series based on its critically acclaimed hit film that aired earlier this year.
Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Sinqua Walls (Power) and Ali Ahn (Billions) are joining the movie’s original cast including Afton Willamson (HBO’s The Night Of…), Wood Harris (The Wire), Mack Wilds (90210), Antoine Harris (Ballers), David Call (The Magicians) and Evan Handler (Sex and the City).
Inspired by the book by journalist Dan Charnas entitled The Big Payback, a narrative history of the hip-hop business, The Breaks is written, directed and executive produced by Seith Mann (The Wire, The Walking Dead, Homeland) with a story by Mann and Charnas. John J. Strauss (Mozart in the Jungle) is joining as Executive Producer for the series. The film followed three young friends fulfilling their hip hop dreams in New York City in 1990. The series will continue to explore their triumph and heartbreak trying to make their mark in a new and complex hip hop culture.
Mann, Charnas, Strauss, Bill Flanagan and Darren Goldberg are executive producers on The Breaks. Maggie Malina, Chris McCarthy and Amy Doyle will serve as executive producers for VH1.

When Duerward Beale, pka DJ Woody Wood from the iconic Philadelphia rap group Three Times Dope, decided to shoot a Philadelphia-based reality show about fishing, his friends fell for his idea..hook, line and sinker.
Not right away, but as audiences will see in his upcoming reality web Fishing With DJ Woody Wood that they took the bait and found themselves in a small boat, drinking in the atmosphere of the outdoors and even learned to enjoy it. The six-part original webisode series will air every Tuesday, beginning May 3 on YouTube, with subsequent new episodes airing on May 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st and June 7.
Woody, who spends his days as the executive director of his non-profit youth organization, YOACAP, is taking viewers behind the scenes of his life with his friends, family and every day people as the football buff tackles the numerous challenges that he faces in his hectic day-to-day life.
What is it about fishing that caught his attention? As a kid, enjoying the outdoor air and boating became second nature to Woody who was raised in Northside Philadelphia but spent his summers in Goldsboro, North Carolina. “I’m a country boy who enjoys the outdoors. I appreciate life and being humble and taking care of my family.”
His deep appreciation for the outdoors lead to his idea for the six-part reality webisode series directed by Walter Wimberly, which will air weekly with new episodes, beginning May 3, 2016. In his first episode, Woody introduces viewers to his beloved Momma Beale and his friends Ebony, Michael, Shamar, Tameka, Doobie, Tajuana, as well as teammates from the Philly Northwest Giants and his second family at YOACAP.
“We started shooting this series three years ago,” Woody explained to his guests who attended the premiere party held in a screening room at Drexel University on April 17. “My mom has Dementia, so I had to get it in where I could fit it in. When people first heard that I was doing a fishing show, they didn’t want to do it because they are nervous of the water, but now they like it.”
Air personality Lady B who is heard weekdays on 100.3 WRNB, hosted the screening and commented during her opening remarks, “In 34 years on the radio, I have never watched a reality show. Folks come up to me and tell me that their daughters don’t have to be reminded to be ratchet. So when Wood came to me, I wanted to know what did he want to come out of it. I was just trying to keep it 100. and he said that he likes to take care of his mom and fishing is relaxing to him. After watching this show, I decided, ‘now this is a show I would tune into. ‘
“I was really impressed when he said, ‘I would like to work on the show more, but mama comes first.’ That is such a quality to share with the audience. Also, there’s nothing negative about this series. If we have to do reality TV, let’s do this kind. Woody’s a real man who is giving back to his community and he stands by his woman, too.”
DJ Woody Wood, who began his music career as a member of Three Times Dope, an Arista Records late 80’s rap trio that recorded a series of feel-good party music for much of their career. After the group disbanded, he detoured from music, earning his Master’s Degree in Human Services from Lincoln University.
Deeply committed to his sense of family, the former recording artist points out that a family of four can go fishing for a day for the same price that they can go to the movies. “I hope that after people see this project that they feel we should do more of these projects that speak to our community and our concerns,” he said.
